Why does stan on general hospital keep getting replaced?!

It's not that they get fired, it's that he's only a background character so TIIC never bother putting him on any sort of contract status and the actors don't exactly wait around for the phone to ring -- they go off and do other projects. Whenever they need to use the character (which is rare), they just hire someone new if the last person is unavailable. This way they can pay the actors less than they would have to if they used the same person every time.
the part wasn't steady enough to keep the actor happy so they killed him hes dead gone and I do not think he will be coming back.
He's dead this time so we won't have to worry about it any more. We never really saw much of him anyway.
The actors kept leaving. The part never was that big after the first guy left and then Spinelli came along.
All the actors who played that part were unhappy that they never had enough storyline and they never could really develop the character into their own.
The part had the makings of a good character but I think that the writers just kind of got stuck on how to write for the part.
Doesn't matter now he's about to be killed off.
