Robert "Rusty" Stevens (born November 25, 1948) is an American former actor, best known for his role as Larry Mondello, Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver's perpetually-eating friend in the original Leave It to Beaver television series. He appeared in 68 of the show's 235 episodes, between 1957 and 1963. Actress Madge Blake portrayed Stevens' baffled mother in the series. Stevens reprised the role in the 1983 made-for-TV reunion movie, Still the Beaver. Stevens and his wife now live in New Jersey.
Jerry Mathers, who player Beaver in the sitcom servies, told a story at a book signing about a detective search that was done to find Stevens so that he could appear in the 1983 reunion movie. The detective finally located the house where Stevens lived, knocked on the door and inquired about the child star. Steven's wife responded by telling the individual this was not the right house. She went back in and told Stevens the story. Stevens said to his wife that the detective was correct in his assumption. Flabbergasted, his wife asked why he had not ever told her about appearing on the Leave It to Beaver series. Stevens said that never came up in the conversation.[1]
Stevens left the show because his family moved from Burbank, California, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The move brought his child acting career to an end.
