I wish it was true, but no. They had a first episode where you fastforwarded a few years later to where she's working in the FBI. Unfortunately, the network didn't like the idea. I think it is because there were none of the characters we know and love, like Wallace, Piz, Mac, her dad, no one.
I'm not sure what you saw, but it is cancelled. There will not be another season.
