there is no way, idol is the most watched tv show and if they say they are going to cancel it it is just to get more people to watch the next season... i love idol and cant wait for it to start

American Idol has been the gateway to so many young people's careers, even those that have not won.
It's one of the most watched tv shows and has made FOX a LOT of money. I think one of the appeals (other than watching people perform each week) is the tension and controvery that goes on between the judges as well as Ryan.
It's a real money maker and as long as their is an audience, the show will continue.
The ONLY time I heard that people would stop watching or would boycot the show was if Sanjaya won. Because then, it would be considered a real farse.
