Can you pitch out an idea for a tv show or movie and get credit?!

Question: would yoube considered the director or the writer?

Answers: would yoube considered the director or the writer?

If you are suggesting that you can walk in a Hollywood studio, and say, "I think you should do a movie about my cousin Chuey - he wears his underwear on his head", then the answer is 99.9999999999% "no".

Pitching an idea is a method to interest Producers, etc. to assist in developing an idea into scripts.

To get paid for an idea, without writing a "treatment", etc. just doesn't happen. You have to provide far more of an outline, in order that the Producers & writer(s) - if not you - can develop the idea.

I recommend you browse Amazon for some books on filmmaking - if you are serious about this. It's a long process and most scripts (ideas) never sell.

one word, research. im sorry i dont have an answer for ya but research is #1!!!!!!!!

; )

gooood luck

i think that role might be the writer ? keep in mind that director would probably have experience and consult you or possibly you could sell the script/ idea and they would change it to make it sell for TV / ratings / advertsing. maybe pay attention to the credits / do a little research / call a reference librarian ? figure out how you would handle this . i know that writers of books / sort of send out a little introduction / query and ask publishers.

No one in the entertainment world would even listen to your ideas unless submitted through a legitimate agent.
