We don't make them like this anymore, they were derided in their day and are now iconic British comedy with a cult following. Who likes them and why/why not?

The secret of these programmes/films is that they were family viewing ie. you could watch them with your kids without either party being embarrassed. Yes, there was double entendre but the majority of the 'smutty' meanings 'went over the heads' of the younger viewers ensuring that everybody enjoyed the progs.

You can't get the script writers these days, and with the Political correctness parade as well, to much like hard work!!

is it on itv3? it was on men and motors and they stopped airing it, me n my bro like ti so much.

what times is it on? and what days?

110% guaranteed

A couple of the actors are still around ,Olive on Eastenders for one ,It was a wonderful series ,I was there watching at the beginning ,I also thought the Confessions were good so funny ,Robin Askwith recently turned up on Coronation St I believe ,With his clothes on for a change lol. and a lot older,They wouldnt work now the Times have changed Young people these days wouldnt really get the humor ,Now the Carry ons I think they are priceless my Grandchildren love them ,Sid James lives on ,Somehow they survive Political correctness Perhaps because its a sillier humor Double inuendas ,

Yes I totally agree with you they were great programs/films and I'd love to see more like them today.

But I fear they were of their time can you imagine what the PCS (Political Correctness Squad) who are trying to ban Xmas/Easter would make of a show like 'Love thy Neighbour'.

Also it was the time of innocence, (where then you might see a breast or hear very mild bad language in the feature films), you can no longer have 'implied sex', nowadays, it's full frontal and *@*?!/

On a more promising note it'll be interesting to see how the new movie St. Trinian's does, sounds like the spirit of Benny Hill is still alive and well

nobody seems to realise that there is an older audience out there ..all you seem to get is what they call alternative comedy ..this is complete cr-p .i don,t know about you but i can sit and watch this and have job to break into a smile .they say the old ones are the best ..all you have to do is listen to all time christmas songs ....all from the 70s / 80s ..bring back dick emery ..aint half hot ...oh sorry politically incorrect ..look on ebay and you will find as i do some fantastic dvds ,,,had my grumble ,,thanks with you all the way

Absoulutely, it is so un-P.C nowdays, i love both On The Buses, Carry On and Are You Being Served, and have the whole collection on DVD and was glad last night as i got to get both On The Buses and Mutiny on the Buses on me Sky + last night my only objection was that they should have gone for the hatrick and had Holiday On The Buses as well, ah well plenty for me to watch tonight....."I ate you Butler"

Most of the Carry on films are no more than ure smutty seaside postcard humour, and yes a lot are perceived as sexist, and even some of the episodes of On The Buses could be percieved as rascist, but i dont think it is intentially menat to offend and i have seen a lot worse on TV nowdays.

huge fan of 'on the buses' - this is what annoys me, why can't they show some of the old episodes, i prefered them to the films (probably cos i've seen the films so many times now)

i hate you butler god i watched that it was amazing i wann awatch it again its addictive like only fools
