The BBC has had loads of complaints about Catherine Tate's Christmas Special!

Question: Apparently she portrayed an Irish family as terrorists, giving each other balaclavas and knuckledusters for Christmas.

I think she is about as funny as visiting the dentist, but it's good to see she's got her finger on the pulse.

On the pulse of what was going on at least 10 years ago, that is.

Was it actually funny?

Yeah I've got loads of complaints about her too, she's crap, not funny, resorts to crudeness and bad langauge to try to get a laugh. Oh yeah and shes ugly.

Apart from that how the hell did she ever get a TV series

lmao im irish, and i think thats funny.

i think thast funny ... lol

maybe if you lived there as an english person like i did you would too... lol

But she's on telly and earning a lot,
She obviously doing better than you are

Yes, because it is exactly that ... old news ... and well out of the way now. I simply laughed and then forgot about it. People who complain about these things are simply over sensitive, that's all. Good humour that's different will always get reaction.

Yeah she annoys the hell outta me too.

Some people have nothing better to do than find things to whine about, that's one of the reasons that political correctness has got out of hand. These people need to grow up, toughen up and learn how to not take life so seriously.

Yes it was very funny especially the scene with Kathy Burke.
Also George Michael doing Fairytale In New York duet was excellent.

YA FACKING KIDDING.

I'm irish and i think shes very funny...i didnt take any offence from it at all...political correctness has gone mad, people take things too seriously these days.

I think it was funny, remember it is comedy...

Verbal bum gravy!SHE WAS F*CKING GREAT!! ITS CALLED COMEDY AND TV's HAVE AN ON OFF SWITCH

I found no humour what so ever?!?

I am so glad someone has found the whole thing as distasteful as I have.

That along side, the swearing - I actually had to change channels in the end, as it was so offencive, I am not straight laced by any stretch of the imagination, but it was toooo much! and most definitely NOT FUNNY

I was so disappointed in her show - as I have until now have been a great fan of hers. NOT any more I am afraid.

Some people are never happy unless they are complaining about something. I like Catherine Tate and find her very funny but each to his/her own I suppose. It would be boring if we all liked the same things.

Yeah she should have used a muslim family handing out presents of teddy bears then the family each taking turns to execute them. Now that would of been funny if not politically correct.

I like Catherine Tate. I think she's very talented and she can be very funny. BUT she has started to go too far and it goes beyond being funny. I can't say I find it offensive (although I can see that some people would) - just not very funny.
Shame.

I thought the whole programme was very very funny. It was on after the watershed and for adults only -so what's the problem? I've got her book and that's brilliant, too.
The Irish scenes were intended as 'a joke' -it's a comedy programme!
Anyone who knows Irish people will know that they don't just live 10 years in the past they live 30+ years in the past ! My friend who hails from Northern Ireland is over 40 but her mum still won't let her wear anything 'green' !
