Why do critics love the HBO drama The Wire so much?!

i hate that show, every show about Baltimore make the people who live here look bad
I don't watch The Wire regularly but I just had to say earning Emmy awards don't equal greatness. Everybody Loves Raymond was the biggest pile of crap and the show and the actors kept earning Emmys year after year.
The show is spot on about what is going on in Baltimore. Last season they spotlighted a political system in this country that is broke,this season it will be the educational system which doesn't relate to the kids of today. The people involved in this show have done their homework and pull no punches in telling it how it really is in this country with politicians habit of throwing money at a problem rather than rolling up their sleeves and tackling it. If you solve all the problems in this country they are out of work and the money stops coming.
Qdrones, last season was about the educational system in Baltimore and this season is about the news room at a Baltimore paper. I read it in the USA today, I think The Wire sucks now. Seasons 1-3 were good, once the Stringer Bell character was killed I quit watching.
Well because some people can actually relate to it. Its so real because people go through this stuff in their everyday life the struggles,the loss,the gains,and the knowledge they learn along the way.This stuff isn't fake like every other show you see on TV now n days. I actually know people in bmore who looks at the show and say wow I'm proud that people can see what we go through and that's its not all a lie. ANYWAY I'm 14 years old and my whole fam(mom,bro,sis,dad) luv da show and we can relate even tho were not from bmore but from DC but they are kinda the same. But anyway what u see on the wire is the REAL DEAL that's why people like it.
p.s maybe the didn't win an Emmy Award because some people just don't understand the show therefore they wont watch it.
