Lunch lady... err... janitor on Survivor: China?!
Question: Thoughts on Denise?
1) Said that no one would want her in the final 3 b/c she has a great life with husband and so she might get a pity vote. (I know, it doesn't make sense. She said it, not me.)
2) Begged Amanda to bring her to the final three b/c others will have Hollywood careers but she will "have to go back to [her] family & be a lunch lady for $7 an hour."
3) Before jury vote, berated 2 of the remaining contestants for lying. Said that they needed to have their "conscience cleaned" or something like that. Very self-righteous.
4) Voted for Courtney b/c she "didn't lie."
5) At finale said that when she went home she lost her lunch lady job because she was too popular from Survivor; a distraction to students, and was "demoted" to janitor. Mark Burnet gave her $50,000 pity money.
6) Turns out she APPLIED for PROMOTION to janitor job (went from $7 to $17 w/ better benefits) LAST JANUARY and did it for 6 months before being granted leave of absence to go on Survivor.

I am the one who posted that article about how the school board was contradicting what Denise was saying...I could not believe how she misled all of us to believe that she "lost" her lunch lady job.
I hated it when she was working Amanda and said that "all" she had to go back to was her life with her family and working in the cafeteria.......Hey, it's her life with her husband and family and she chose it, right? Why is she griping about it to Amanda? Totally playing Amanda so that she would take her to the final 3, I know that!
Wow, I did not know that the janitor job paid $17 an hour...wow! What a huge difference in her income! Why would she want to go back to being a lunch lady for $10 less an hour?! The only thing I heard her say was that it was a night shift and she never got to go to her kids ballgames, ect. Well, she knew that when she took the janitor evening shift, right?
As far as Mark Burnett giving her the $50,000 pity money, I was really happy when they announced that on the show and felt so good for Denise and her family. So to later find out the real truth about her life made me mad that she played everyone and got the money. However, I did read that Denise meant to say that she wanted her lunch lady job back AFTER Survivor and they told her there were no openings...and that is what she meant when she said she could not have her old job back! And I read that she was giving her $50 grand to charity now that all this has come out....I find that hard to believe because she so desperately needs the money.

i think what she did was LAME!! i read she hasn't received the $50,000 yet and may not be getting it at all now. the school board director came forward about all of that. i think she is scum really. she needs to cut that mullet, put on some makeup, and move out of her hometown!

Seems like she was desperate and didn't keep her story straight. I think she's not as sweet and innocent as she'd like everyone to believe. And love that hair!
Didn't really like Denise after a few episodes. She contradicted herself at least once that I remember. The Reward Challenge when her husband was there: she went on and on about how she was afraid she wouldn't get picked for the million because she had such a great life. Then, later on in the game, she starts whining because she's a lunch lady making only $7/hour. What's happened to the "great life". WHINER!
I'm wondering now if Mark Burnet feels like he was a contestant in the game, too. He got PLAYED!.
I can't decide if I feel bad for her or not. I was happy when the Chinese girl ( i forget her name), chose Denise for the reward, but I felt bad when the Chinese girl wasnot picked by Denise when Denise won! That got me mad. I'm not sure if Denise is all there. Maybe she's a little handicapped in her head? Is that possible? She seems genuinely nice, but a little confused. And to keep that mullet because her husband likes long hair, and her job requires it out of her face! ( let it grow and wear a hairnet) Then how come since she got the janitorial job, and she's been home for 3 months, she got a new mullet haircut! Before I realized she was married, I thought she like girls. I kept calling her the dyke when the show first started.
I think she is manipulative and stupid. She made those comments on national television going into great detail how she was a distraction to the kids and she could not get her job back. So, now she is a janitor. I think that Mark Burnett should not give the money to her. I find it incredibly stupid to make these comments on TV knowing media outlets and her own school system will be listening to let the truth be known.
