Isn't it a bit ridiculous that we never have a proper XMAS NUMBER #1 anymore!

Question: ... will the manufactured X-Factor winner be number one every year..?????

Quite ridiculous that is... but the whole Xmas number one thing is probably quite ridiculous anyway...

..and this is nothing to do with him being scottish btw.. so no Scot-bashers please...

I feel the same way about Leona and Shane's Xmas number ones too... although I do feel that he (Leon) will disappear a lot quicker than they will..

what say you ..?

take out the i-pod down loads and they wont even hit top twenty.shop sales only.

Its either that or Cliffy Richards...take your pick.

I know what you mean.......... I don't hear the top 40 countdown on Capital fm like i used to for Christmas number 1. It's just predictable who will win. Whereas before, there always was competition on who will be number 1. . . . X factor is on every year now. It's great entertainment but its time for Simon to give it a rest x

Yeah I agree..

Fairytale of New York
Do They Know It's Christmas

One of those should be number one!

Yes, it is a little sad. But while people buy the rubbish that X-Factor brings out it will keep happening.

because of the show sucess
and its also been much awaited the single (from any of the contestants), and its been advertised for like 13 weeks.. well practically

i didnt mind leona because shes good anyway

but these other reality pop singers dont deserve it!

It is doc....I answered question early this morning about Leon getting to number 1 and I said it was a pity we didn't have 'proper' singles (showing my age now !!) getting to number one now for Crimbo. Slade, Wizzard, Mud, The Glitter Band, The Wombles even bloody Cliff Richard Mr.Blobby and The St Winifreds School Choir. Hacked off that for the last 3/4 years it's had to be an Xfactor etc winner.

OR....Is it just that I'm showing my bloody age after all ?????

bring back the wombles ,i say, doc or shaken stevens , even mr blobby at least he was a laugh lol

DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS? No they do not those that produce records that is discusting bring back a good old traditional christmas song for CHRISTMAS!!
Well said everyone and you for question Bad.

I agree with you on that, its not the same anymore and its not like we have top of the pops anymore to watch, everyone used to watch that on christmas day to hear the songs from the last year then hear the number one, everything has just changed nowadays and even if cliff was number one least you could of had a good old laugh about it.

Yeh I agree, but we are the ones buying the music. We don't have to buy a single. In future everyone should buy Xmas songs in December and no other songs, that way we wont have a number 1 that isn't xmassy.

I am hoping Westlife will be number 1. I Love Them. Love Jo,xx
Merry Christmas.xx

Well The Pogues and Kirsty MaColl is my all time fave...and I think it should be No1 EVERY year......

Never thought about it but have now it is, yes use to be a big thing who would get to number 1, shame!

Well they`ve even now named Christmas after X-Factor (Xmas)

I'm getting fed up with all the non xmas songs that are getting the coveted xmas number one spot. I used to love seeing what novelty records were coming out, even would swallow my dignity, pride, and self respect, and actually buy them. Now it's hard to get into the Christmas spirit listening to the charts this week.

Oh and Merry Christmas Bad, hope you have a good one.
