I think it's a little of both. We all know that you don't need to know the answers to those questions they ask on that show. When was the last time you needed to know how many sides a rhombus had or which planet in our solar system is largest. Even if you needed this information it can be easily looked up online, so you don't need to memorise it.

Game show with lots of humor. LOL Got the DVD game & played it today & no, I'm afraid I may be AS smart, but not smarter than a 5th grader;-)
