Question: We urr stuck wi' Mr Branson's spectaculary naff cable package(not the super package, the one below it). Other than paying arms and legs for the new style box thingy, is there any way that we can watch one channel whilst recording another?? It's offy annoying at this time o' the year, when they urr showing hunners o' guid stuff, all at the same time!! Cheers in advance.......

Get yourself a freeview box..as cheap as £9.99 in some places..and run one of them, the one you are most likely to record from, through your recorder to the t.v. and the other direct to it..if you have enough plugs in the television, which you should do.You then assign them different channel numbers for viewing on, one of them the one now used for the recorder of course..and bob is one of your parent's brother! Yes, it does work, we have this set up.

If there's something on a terrestrial channel, you can still connect your recorder up to tape from your aerial.
Some things will also be on 'catch-up tv' for the week after (although, annoyingly, they don't seem to tell you which ones!)

Go with Sky Ange, way better than bloody cable!
