Who is Jacob in Lost?!

I have this wacky theory that he is Alvor Hanso (or whoever headed the Dharma Initative) because if you watch the Orientation video for the Hatch, it shows Hanso through a window, but it's very shadowy and mysterious, you never see the guy. Similar to Jacob in the shack later, you don't really see his face, just shapes and shadows. I don't know, I could be way wrong, but that is my guess
I think he was the person who came up with the whole Dharma project. He was the one who got Ben's father to go to island.
I think Jacob is the apparent Leader of the Others, but he is some kind of special being who can only be seen by people who are 'special'. Hopefully we'll find out more about him in season 4 when it returns on Jan 31st.
