Family Guy was made first and then American Dad. They are made by the same people so if you see similarities between the 2 you will know why. In my opinion American Dad is a lot funnier, with better story lines than Faimly Guy. Though Family Guy do have some very funny episodes. If anything Family Guy copies this Simpson's IE dumb oath of a father, mature more rational mother, boy, girl and a baby.
