Question: Do you think Harriet Jones deserved what the Doctor did to her career?
All over the boards on other sites people are angry about it. I think what she did was atrocious. I know it opened the Ministry to Saxon but I still think she was out of line.

I think that she was wrong in shooting down the Sycorax (sry about the spelling!). That was murder, as the Doctor said, and she had no right to do that. If someone is willing to destroy an entire race, hundreds of people, it makes them no better than the 'evil' in the first place.
If you think about, would you want someone leading your country that was willing to mercilessly kill anything that got in your way? Almost worse, she relied on Torchwood, which sole gain was to make a British empire using Stolen alien technology.
I also add that she challenged the Doctor. She shouldn't have challenged him if she wasn't willing to bear his reply.
They also had to open it up to Saxon a bit. I think that Russel T Davies mentioned something in DWM (magazine) about how Saxon changed something or whatever. Not sure, but i remember something....who knows what the writers think!
