How bad are the quality of programs on tv, and would a interactive ratings syste!

Question: I think that the general quality of tv (in the uk) has been rapidly decreasing for a long time and there seems to be more repeats than ever now (yet we are still charged a license fee on top of our sky/cable subscription fees).
Most (soon to be all) homes have digital tv and therefore - interactive tv (press the red button now etc...!), So why don't they introduce an interactive poll system where you can rate every program that is on tv by scoring it 1-9 using your remote control, and then they could analyse all the data and see what programs people actually do and don't want to watch (and hopefully do something about it).

you're right - tv is wack, your idea is good, although you may get the thumbs down brigade from off of here voting on tv and it would render the system useless if they just gave every program a low rating regardless of how good it is unfortunately

far to simple , and tv broadcasters wouldnt like to know the real truth we are a captive audience and are forced to make do

You think you got it bad over there? You should see some of the crap we have on the tele here in the US.

TV companies make programmes for the lowest common denominator for the advertising revenue, nothing more. Yours is a good idea, but it stands to reason that challenging, educative programmes aren't going to get many votes because so few people watch them. Depressing but true!

be a lot of empty TV screens.
