I used to love Spooks, it was one of the top telly programmes. This series has really disappointed me and I've stopped watching. I used to think it had a lot of realism, a lot of tension, and great storylines. IMO it's made a farce of itself now. The storylines became ludicrous, the tension was gone as you almost EXPECTED someone to get killed off every week, and it all together went downhill. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a return to more realistic & gripping episodes next series. But I know a lot of people have still enjoyed it, both my sisters do, but it didn't appeal to me this time round.
Yes it's called drama but there is little truth in it. Most surveillance work is long and boring but that wouldn't make good tv so they spice it up big style.

I think in this day and age it would be exciting to work for the secret service.

You should check MI5's website. it's very interesting. And you don't need to be James Bond to work there. lol
i dunno, but some of the storylines have been similar to real events.
