When did the "Real World" start going downhill?!
Question: I cant quite say which season it was, but I pretty much stopped watching after "Las Vegas" in 2002..really a shame, I've been a fan since 1996(Miami) when I was only an impressionable 11 year old. Do you think the new "unreality" craze has anything to do with the casts MTV has gathered for these recent seasons?

i would say that Hawaii season was the season that signaled a change in the concept of the show... It went from a socially relevant series where issues were explored to a bunch of pretty people drinking too much and doing nothing worthwhile...
They did manage a few good seasons following that (New Orleans for one) but for the most part that's when the shift started.
IMHO the best seasons were Miami, L.A. and San Fransisco.

Yea like the old real worlds looked really raw and emotional and that stuff but know its like lets create drama. okay 2 blonde barbies, a recovering druggie, a middle eastern looking person ooohhhh really controversial, a guy with a gf and 2 other ppl
then they all hate each other then they make up
As soon as I became older then the cast!
When they started being scripted,after the first couple of seasons of the REAL WORLD from M.T.V.the season with FLORA !!! she came on national television and admitted the SHOW was scripted.

now it seems lik they are choosing fake ppl...they really need to just pick some real ppl and the show would probably do good again but as of now that sh*t is horrible!!! i dont never ever watch it!
I think things started to slip south after the San Francisco Puck fiasco... what was that... season 3?! Since then it's just been a joke... I guess it maybe always was a joke... but the joke hasn't been funny for over a decade.
I agree. There has never been a good cast since Vegas.
I quit watching after San Francisco but since 2005 Austin I've become a viewer again.
It probably started after New Orleans. the only good one after that was Vegas.
i think the real world starts going down hilll for viewers when you mature to the point that you get to the point that you find their fights to be a waste of time and just plain old childish.
