i love that show one of my favorites because of VINCENT D'ONOFRIO one of my favorite actors, for the Captain Deacon leaving the show if i remember right he retired because he felt pressure from the internal affairs some high mokymok planted crooked evidence that made him look like a bad cop and that was not true Goren and his partner wanted to fight and clear his name they new he was innocent but he decided to leave because he was few up of fighting
The character was written out of the storyline at the end of the 2005-2006 season when Jamey Sheridan left the show. Deakins was under investigation by IA on some phony charges of bribing a witness to lie (in order to clear Logan of a shooting) and decided to take his retirement. The frame-up was engineered by former friend/cop Frank Adair from prison.
