No, they are set up shows meant to look real they all really know each other and they rehearse ever scene. Not just MTV shows almost all reality shows my friend works at the MTV producer center and he told me that they were fake set up shows. Only the drama was really their own, but they had things to argue about.

I believe that they are scripted for all the drama that occurs on there. I do think that sometimes there are some real pieces, but for the most part I would say that they are scripted.

I know its fake, but I still enjoy it. It is still entertaining, just as other acted shows are.
the hills producers admitted some scenes were fake, like Heidi and Spencer's apartment, isn't actually their apartment which is why they have like, no furniture. i love NY and tila are so unvbelievably planned and faked and laguna beach? come on. its so fake but it's still fun to watch.
They are define. scripted. It's getting to the point where I can predict who is going home and be right. Why do you think Tailor Made is still on I Love New York? He adds drama along with Budha. You think New York is oblivious to the fact that Tailor is only feeding her what she wants...and that Budha only wants some airtime? Why do you think these relationships never last?
Hell yes they are fake. Have you ever acted differently when you know someone else is watching you? Now imagine there are cameras, and that there are millions of people, regardless of whether or not there are, who are going to watch you.
i love the hills no matter what, but, i have to say it's definitely scripted. my friends were out in the city (NYC) and saw LC and some of the girls at some restaurant, and they kept having to repeat the same moment over and over...not too surprising though right? i mean come on heidi - spencer is SUCH A LOSER!!! :)
I was on a "reality" show that was on MTV, and the producers actually stir up a lot of trouble, so no, it is not reality TV. If I am not mistaken, the show has writers.
