Is it possible to be as deductive and Observant as Dr. House MD.?!

Question: Yes. Its all about your knowledge of a certain subject and how it applies to various things. Observation is a trait you can develope at home... you just have to know what you're looking for!

My sister is in PA school, and if you give her a list of symptoms,... shes pretty darn good at peggin what the problem is. Comes with the territory i guess.

Something they dont show you though. All that time, when House isnt at the hospital, hes probably got his nose in a book. Practice makes perfect.

d

its a tv show, hugh laurie isnt even as deductive as that. no one is, thats why its not real

I'm not sure, but I certainly wish my own Doctor would be that sharp.

I doubt it. I'm watching House right now =D
I wish all doctors were as good as him (if only he was real).

Probably not .. it is fiction you know and in fiction anything can happen, unlike real life.

I think the character reaches that level of observation by having total detachment from the patients. His focus is entirely on the symptoms and he doesn't really care if the patient survives or not, as long as he solves his puzzle. I wouldn't want to have him as a doctor...I'd rather have a doctor with a brilliant heart and mind who cared about me as a patient and wanted me to be well.

That said, I love the show and I'm hooked on House like he's hooked on Vicodin!

Well, even though Dr. House is only an actor, I really love the show, and I think the actors/actresses do a very good job in it....

I love the show, but really he isn't all that smart. How many times is he wrong before he is right? I prefer my doctor to know what my problem on the first try!
