I'd say so. The show has been on for years previous to these three presenting it but they have been the right combination to keep the show going as an entertainment show rather than just a car show.

It seems all very well scripted and tight since the audience has been made larger, doesnt seem so spontaneous.
as much as i love it i find the format is getting a little tired anyway

when richard hammond was in the car crash that time...the other 2 guys said they wouldnt do top gear anymore if something happend to hammond so i think this should be the same! if one goes they all go!! they have chemistry that no-one else could replace!!
I don't even like cars that much - it's really not something I'm into but I still love that programme - those three are so funny!
i hope jeremy goes because he slags everyone off including birmingham, i mean ok he is right the place is a mess but i think that he should keep his opinions to himself, but i think hammond is mega kool, i want him to stay for definately
I love top gear. It will be an end of an era. Like top of pops, television may move on, but it will never be the same.
I dont like that fifth gear on 5, its too crap.

They would be hard-pushed to find replacements, but you never know. I would like them to reveal who the Stig is if it does end, me and the hubby have been arguing about his identity for years!
Yeah it wouldnt be the same would it?They are a team and bounce of each other all the time.It would be like The Stones without Jagger or The Who without Daltery,wouldnt work.Hopefully they will present it for a while yet.
I've always been into cars and I use to watch all the car shows loving all the reviews on the latest Sports and luxury cars.I really don't know what has happened to top gear these days,I want to see car reviews not 3 wankers prattling on about shite. Bring back the old type where they did review after review,they are meant to be bloody car shows after all.Bloody caravan racing,shitty amphibious vehicles and 3 old blokes sitting on a sofa trying to be cool and funny which they are far from just doesnt cut it for me.
So if Hammond leaves Top Gear we should all break open the Champagne,and after the party give the other two prats there marching orders.
I'd be very sorry if the Hamster were to leave Top Gear as he's really cute but am getting a bit fed up hearing Jeremy Clarkson's voice now. It's like his show and the other two are just extras. If the show does end, I hope they tell us who the Stig is and end our misery.

I'm not into cars, but like more a lot are into it due to their antics and it's an interesting programme to watch..
I think the chemistry between the 3 makes it work..
clarkson.. the gobby alpha male, but he does talk a lot of sense and speaks his mind. He doesn't like Piers Morgan either, like me.. so thats always a plus point. Probably the joker at school.
hammond.. the eye candy, lets face it ladies clarkson / may don't fit into that.
may.. the fall guy for the jokes.. e.g. denting his car when ever they get a chance and always getting lost ,even on their own track.lol
I think they do work as a team.. they work individually as presenters but not as well. I mean May does a wine thing with oz clark, although I think clarkson is the main person with the strongest character.
They say / do things most people would want to do.. and speak their mind.. these days thats very rare.
i totally agree. i can't even drive and have no interest in cars but i watch top gear every week with my partner. their chemistry and jokes together appeal to the ladies whilst their blokieness and the cars appeal to the men. i don't think it would work the same if any of them left. if they had to get rid of one though i think they could do away with or replace james and still keep the programme good, but either of the other 2 and it just would not work.
I used to think that when Angela Rippon and William Woollard called it a day.
