In my mind, unless they introduced a new character for the Villains chapter, it has to be HRG. HRG had to do something to prove he was loyal to the company, and killing Nathan was it. If you watch the scene and pause it where you see the guy walking away, he turns his head slightly to the left, and you can see the corner of his glasses. I think what's happening is that they are setting up HRG to be a villain (or someone who has to do villainous things) to protect his family.

Hmmm, interesting. I don't think so, though I am still 3 episodes behind, I saw Nate get shot. We do know that privacy is important to many of the Powers that Be in Heroes. When Mrs. Petrelli decided to take the rap for killing Kaito she thought to Matt for him to DROP IT so their powers can stay secret. Adam claimed to Peter that the reason he was locked up for 30 years was to keep him from going public.
I think it is another one of the 12, one we haven't been introduced to.

Nathan wasn't really a main character this season and Niki's was kinda odd man out with her ability, it didn't fit with the whole heroes scene. They were the two most expendable characters, besides Maya and Elle. But I don't consider them two main characters just because they weren't in it last season.
I totally agree that HRG, aka Noah, shot Nathan but now that Sylar has his powers back things will get very interesting. I don't like how everyone is getting the super blood. Soon everyone will be able to regenerate and I think that takes something away from the show.

It might have been Bob. I don't think that it was HRG because Nathan's mom was talking to someone at the end of the show who I believe is the shooter. I also don't believe that it was his mom but that show has so many turns that no one sees. I think HRG has some sort of plan. Can't wait till next season!
