There's some good information on the strike at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ55Ir2jC...

Production on Heroes shut down after episode 11 was filmed, because the cast, directors and creator Tim Kring joined the writers on the picket lines. Season 2 was always designed to be two volumes. Volume 2 was designed to be episodes 1-11 and Volume 3 would be episodes 12-23. When it became obvious that a strike couldn't be averted, they reshot Episode 11 as a season finale, just in case. Episode 12 was already filmed before the strike was called, as were parts of episodes 13 and 14. I don't know how many changes will have to be made to them in light of the changes made in Episode 11.

Right now it's down to the studios. If they insist on being greedy then the strike will continue. If it goes on too long, there won't be time to get production back up and finish the season, so this will be it until fall 2008 (assuming the strike is over by then - the last strike lasted 22 weeks). If they give in and give the writers what they want, then production can pick up after the holidays and we'll get a full season, or at least close to it.

The show will hopefully resume after the holidays as the voice over said but now they are beginning Chapter 3 : Villains.
