Ok, what was said was that if the Writers Strike ends early on in the year, Heroes will release a couple of episodes, take a hiatus, and continue in September. If the Writers Strike continues for a long time, then Heroes will not start until September of '08.

It's not late 08 its when the writer's strike is over. This will only serve as the season finale if the strike isn't ended soon. It as of now was the finale for volume 2. Volume 3 will start sometime in 08.
It all depends on when the strike ends. The way it is I doubt there will be no new scripted TV until fall 08. If there is a miracle and it ends soon they will probably be able to pop out a few scripts in time for maybe March airing.
2008 starts in January. That does not mean anything. They are hoping the strike ends soon and then they will go back to work.
