I think she looses Tom but I don't think all the kids are dead. I'd hope not. At the beginning of the show they say that someone looses a husband which I think is Victor and that they will all lose a friend. Tom is the only person that we don't see at the end.
Why December 16th? It's not supposed to return until the new year or so I thought.
There are supposedly 4 episodes that they taped before the strike but they've left to air it until after the strike and I'm guessing that it's to give time to tape new ones once the strike is over.
I also agree, Ida may be the friend that they are referring to. It seems to make sense.
I don't think there all dead.. I do believe the show is over until January though...
According to most sites Lynette does not lose her family but Gabrielle lost Victor and the friend they are reffering to that is Ida Greenberg.

I think the husband was victor like everyone on here is saying, but you think Ida died? Is she did, then how come Lynette's husband and kids didn't die b/c they were in the same room?
That was scary when Adam's mistress was like "Ok, i'm leaving" and then the tornado sucked her away.
I hope this writer's strike ends soon so it can come back faster.
The husband is def victor but who knows who the friend is. I think the biggest question is by lose does that have to mean die ? Perhaps someone moves away
I thought it was Mrs. McCluskey's house too, but apparently it was her house. Even if it was McCluskey's, they were in the basement so they theoretically could have survived. The house would have fallen over the basement, not into the basement.
