I was told that he died in real life. i know he was definatly in a coma!! i hope he is ok~!

Well, as the actor who plays him suffered a massive stroke a couple of months back, they have actually written it into the storyline that Jim has suffered a stroke while visiting relatives.
as far as i know john bardon who plays jim is not dead
he dies in the tv series later on

Jim Branning played by John Bardon went away to visit his daughter. Whilst there he suffered a stroke and went into hospital.
Dot Branning is understandly worried and upset.
I heard that there is an episode coming up where just Dot Branning will be the main focus for the whole half hour of the show in which she talks and makes a video dairy about her life with Jim as she waits for him to come home.
As she talks she realises he isn't coming home but is going to a nursing home - it will be a weepy episode I think.

The 'In Memory of' that was shown after an EastEnders episode last week was for Tony Holland whom created EastEnders.
He died on the 29th November at the age of 67 after being unwell for quite a while.

The chap who plays Jim has had a stroke in rela life, so I think they have written in this to the plot, i.e. Jim has had a stroke and is away in hospital somewhere
