too bad HEIDI KLUM is the host of PROJECT RUNWAY.
It maybe because not many of them try out for the show, and if there are alot, their designs aren't anything that catches the judges eye.
There has not been a lot of African American contestants on Project Runway but I can think of one from Season 2 (Zulema I think was her name) and of course Michael on Season 3. Carmen from this season seemed as if she had some creative in her but was just completely overwhelmed with the menswear challenge. Why there are not more contestants I can't really say. That would be a question for the producers or one of the blogs on the Bravo web site.

I forgot about Kara Saun (spelling?) on Season 1 as well. She came pretty close to winning it all but I wonder if the whole shoe fiasco bit her in the butt.
And the color of their skin or their sexual orientation or their religious background has what to do with their designs or them being a great designer? I'm confused I thought it was about a persons creative abilities............................. Actually, I bet Tyra would agree!
