Please recommend tv dramas that you watched when you were growing up?!

Question: Programmes that you used to watch as a child or teenager.

I've recently been feeling nostalgic for stuff I watched when I was growing up and feel like seeing more of it - but would like your suggestions.

I've watched Dark Season, Century Falls (which is still amazing!! - Recommended!) and I'm going to be watching My So-called Life - these are things I loved when I was younger and want to see if they are still worth watching.

What about you?

Secret Army - still repeated on UK Drama every few months. The story of the Belgian resistance evasion lines, getting airmen back to britain. It was the serious drama that 'allo allo parodied. Shows things from a german point of view too.

Dr Who ...of course

and someone mentioned Press Gang, very well written with great love hate chemistry between Julia Swalia and Dexter Fletcher.
Do you remember the two part episode where they had the flash forwards to someones funeral after they were all kept hostage by a gunman, and you never got to know who was in the coffin until the end of the siege.
It was the gunman who had taken them hostage, and had shot himself at the end of the seige. They told the police he was a friend and lied that the gunman had got away so that people would still think he was a good person.
The actor who played him went on to hollywood.
Interesting name.

Upstairs, Downstairs.

When I was growing up tv was absolute crap - especially children's tv. You only had an hour at lunchtime "Watch with Mother" which was for very young children, and then an hour between 5-6pm, "Children's Hour". I used to love "Robin Hood" and "Ivanhoe", which was about the extent of children's drama in these days. I watch tv with my grandson now and marvel at the choice and variety of children's programmes. I think some of them are better than the adult programmes!

Doctor Who
