Absolutely. The writers are the heart of Hollywood. They are the foundation upon which everything else is built. Their payments have been stagnant for 20 years now, and even falling in the sense that studios are making revenue from internet sales and streaming and not paying writers for that. I find the strike frustrating, but I support the writers and wish there was some concrete way to show my support. Unfortunately the only ones who will make a real difference are the Nielsen families (who frankly don't seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer).
yes I do- the writers get very little in terms of $$ from DVD sales- the BiG corporations get most of the $$ from DVD sales- though the Big actors usually get a %
But the Main thing is that most networks have Offical downloads/streaming from their Own sites or for sale at Itunes and the writers get O- that's right Zero $$ from those-
they want their rightful cut of Downloads. Networks sell ads on their sites where there are downloads so they Are making $$ from them- even if you don't have to pay for the download
