What happened to NBC's show LOST? Was it cancelled?!

I believe it's back after the first of the year like January or February. I like the show, but can anyone even remember how it left off? They only show so many episodes and then it's off forever. No wonder they call it LOST.
I hate when you get interested in a show like "Surface" and then it's canceled!
From what I hear, abc's show Lost is scheduled for Feb. 2008, and that they have created 8 episodes. There's supposed to be 16, but because of the writer's strike those have beeen written yet. If you want, while we eagerly await the new season, you can watch all of season 3 on abc.com
