What happened to reality tv? MTV & VH1?!
Question: So I am in my 20s now and I must say I love reality tv. Yes I am one of those.
But reality tv isn't what it use to be. Does anyone remember the first Road Rules? The one with Kit, Mark, & Carlos? That was an awesome Road Rules. Or Real World with Puck and Amy
Now its about who will get into bed with whom. What happened? Is it just me?

Producers are picking more controversial people because they want there to be more fights and they are picking more "i just want to party and have sex" type of people. they don't care about good tv, they want everything to be a jerry spring moment. i hate the latest real world.
That's funny because I was just think about Road Rules the other day. It used to be a really good show. Now, I don't even get the premise. Why can't they just put then on an RV and have them do challenges for puzzle pieces? Why are they casting votes and switching RVs and...what's happening?
Producers are always trying to do something new and spice things up but they just end up messing up a good thing. MTV has been messing up a lot of their shows doing this. They don't even cast likable people anymore, just the combative and controversial ones.
I loved the original road rules as well and was excited they were bringing it back after its hiatus but was then disapointed. I also loved the real world road rules challenge, but the same people are always on it it seems.
I agree with the other respondents. The newest addition of Road Rules was horrible and confusing. Now, I just look forward to the challenges just so I can see the old-school RR/RWers.
I don't even bother to watch the Real World anymore. But it seems like all of the overseas Real Worlds' sucked to me.
It's in the gutter.
