The X factor marketing campaign?!

Question: Anyone agree with this theory. One of the judge's record firms had already given a contract to one of the contestants before the series began. They hold auditions (and find a few people with a bit of talent) and plant the contract holder among the auditionees. As time goes by they whittle away the other less talented contestants until they are left with the original person that they had already discovered and given the contract to. Bingo! The TV bosses have a show that people are addicted to for weeks on end. The judges get a big pay cheque for doing the series. The singer gets a guaranteed christmas number one. The record label boss gets even richer on the back of sales of the single and album.
Everyone is happy, except those people who ring up the voting lines and get stung.
I reckon its all been arranged since before the first day of auditionning. What does anyone else think?

Dear God yes. I agree wholeheartedly. I even said that I think they find someone good and tell them they will get a record contract but they don't put them in the show til the next year. So they can guarantee they have their winner for that season.

Yeah, theres definitely stuff that goes on that we dont know about.

i don't think so but you have your opinion and i have mine

i don't think it is pre arranged that far, but i do believe that the results are doctored to the favour of the record label boss. by now they have certainly decided who is going to win. and i dont think its going to be the one that most joe publics would want at no1 this xmas

I don't think it's fixed that much. I'm sure it'd fixed for their favourites to get far and/or win, however selecting a contestant to give a contract too- i'n not sure.

I do not think it is rigged prior show however once it gets under way they know who to boot out for maximum effect like Kimberly one of better singers and Bev even Future Proof where better than Hope.
I think now they know who they want to have that contract I hope to god it is Rhydian because he can truly sing.
Unfortunalty many of the others will be made a fast buck out of and dumped.
They have the rights to all final 12 for 12 months taking 20% out of earnings as they can use the fact they have been on X Factor for publicity.Their agents also have 20% so 40% has gone before they start.

I agree with you to the extent that I believe at least one previously spotted singer is planted amongst the rest of the contestants. However, I do not believe that the voting public are simply strung along - there has been too much furore in the news lately about programs such as Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway being rigged, and I do not believe that a set-up of the magnitude you are talking about would go unnoticed by the press.

thats a bit far fetched but i do think the way the votings gone has been tampererd with especially at the weekend when bev got the boot , maybe they do see someone as a clear winner , i'd put money on rhydian but i cannot trust the publics judgement , because i'm certain hope and same difference will be up there with him in the final , we will just have to wait and see good question though btw x

yeah true...

I think Simon Cowell is too clever to rig this programme - he knows it would backfire on him.

Why, sometimes, can't people just take things at face value and give the voting public some credit?!

I don't think it's fixed to anywhere near that extent but I do think there has been some "arranging" of the votes this year. I think Saturday when Beverly went and Hope were in the bottom two *yet again* that Simon finally became resigned to the fact that as much as he wanted Hope to win, if he's to regain any credibility with the public he's going to have to accept that Rhydian is more likely to - and quite rightly. You could almost see the cogs whirring in Simon's head while Rhydian was singing on Saturday night. Next week will be interesting if Simon has finally clocked that the public don't think that Hope should win.

you may have a point there i'm sure simon cowell would do anything for money
