Babylon 5 - Is this a real song?!

Question: I was watching the TV show Babylon 5 and I saw the episode 'And the Rock Cried Out, no Hiding Place.' At the end of the show, this guy Lord Reefer was being killed by angry Narns at the same time the captain was attending a gospel church service and they were singing a song. The lyrics went something like 'I went to the rock to hide my face, but the rock cried out, "no hiding place!"' and that's when Reefer was killed... anyway do you know if that is a real song or not?

I believe it's a slightly modified version of an old gospel song. Like any old folk song, there are different lyrics depending upon the region and time period. The lyrics to a couple of traditional versions are at http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/folk-s... and http://www.playingbyear.com/songs/theres...

I don't know if they chose a particular version for the episode or if they just added a few verses of their own.

At any rate, it was a great episode.
