Why are there only 10 episodes of Heroes this season?!
Question: Last season, there were 23 episodes of Heroes. This season, there are less than half of that - only 10 i'm pretty sure. Does anyone know why?

There may be more, depending upon how negotiations with the studios and WGA go tomorrow and next week.
Season 2 was originally supposed to be split into two story arcs. Volume 2 would last 11 episodes, Volume 3 would be the final 12. They had finished Episode 11 when the strike was called, and they did some last-minute reshooting to make it into a season finale, just in case. If the strike continues past January, there won't be time for any shows to get back into production, so all TV series this season will be around 10-12 episodes. If the strike is settled quickly, then production can get back up to speed after the holidays and there will be a minimal break.
Tim Kring, the show's creator, has been out on the picket lines with the writers. So have many of the actors, who have refused to cross the picket lines.
A lot of shows have been affected by the writer's strike. . . . I'm guessing that's why the season is so short this time.
Personally I think its a good thing, then they wont be dragging it out like Lost. Lost used ot be cool but they have taken the whole concept waaay to far. Heroes is the best!
There was supposed to be a full season of Heroes, followed by a mini season of "Heroes: Origins". This season was supposed to be like the last one, with a couple of mini arcs. Unfortunately, the strike changed all of that. Instead of the December 3rd episode (the 11th) being the end of the Generations arc, with a new arc starting the following week, the episode was changed to be a season finale instead.

I looked online and found three episode lists that say their are 23 episodes they have titles for them up to the eleventh episode but 23 episodes are scheduled....I think the commercial said that the biggest shock is in the next 2 episodes....Hopefully the internet is right
P.S. there are supposedly 2 volumes this season volume 2 is the first 11 episodes volume 3 is the next 12 episodes following...
