GH fans: Emily being killed off was a good or bad idea?!
Question: Bad idea. From what I hear, it was her idea to leave and the show didn't want to recast her. I'd rather them recast her than totally kill off a character that's been part of the show for almost 13 years. Even though 'Emily' became boring as heck after Amber Tamblyn left the show, I think there's still a place for her on the show.

I agree.
I liked Amber Tamblyn too and always had a hard time buying the newer Emily but I think the character had alot more story lines left in her. I'm especially having a hard time watching the dying off of the Quartermaines.
Bad move in my opinion as well.
I see your point, her character will be missed, but as you said yourself her role has gotten boring. But from what I've read they want bring out the Cassadine in Nicholas (which will make for some excitement for his role) and he could never be that way if Em stayed around.
i think its terrible about emily.shes one of my favorite characters.i liked amber tamblyn as emily.but i always liked natalia,too.i agree that theres a place for her on gh.to me,she is one of the most important characters.shes elizabeth's best friend.shes monica and alan's daughter,jason's sister,and nicolas' one true love.i thought she would marry nicolas,and she and him would raise spencer together.and then have more children of their own.maybe they'll bring her back.they've been known to do that in the world of soap operas.
Bad idea, I loved Emily but I understand that not all recasts are accepted and they didn't want to go that way.
super bad idea. she's part of THE core family. In a relationship with a member from the other core family and best friends with a spencer. she adds a note to the show that is desparately needed.
