Question: Belle married Phillip basically out of obligation because he was injured badly in war but she was still in love with Shawn. Her baby was also actually Shawn's as well. Belle finally gets Shawn, and now that they are together, she is cheating on Shawn with Phillip. Am I missing something here? I haven't seen it in a while but this makes no sense to me. Which man does she love? Why does she keep bouncing back and forth between them? What in the world is wrong with the girl?

She does love both of them but her and Shawn's love is an old first love and her realtionship with Philip is more mature. She is still hooked on Shawn like an old habit (not a bad habit, but an old one) and regrets her past treatment of Philip. Also consider the families feelings about them being together. Shawn is the son of Bo and Hope while Belle is Marlena and John's little girl - there is nothing anyone wants more than the union of these two families. If Belle puts Shawn behind her she will feel she betrayed them all.
She loves both men. I think she loves Phillips money and what he can do for her. But her heart belongs with Shawn. I actually hope Shawn finds out about them two soon. This is happening too much and it was not just a one time things or mistake. I hate Belle. I know Cloe is coming back soon so I hope her and SHawn get together and leave Belle miserable.
I think the writers at Days' just need to bring in some new characters and think up some new storylines because it has been the same one with Belle/shawn/Phillip for three years!
Even though she claims to be in love w/ Shawn, she's really in love w/ both of them. Shawn hooked up w/ Willow and she got pregnant, but now she's dead. The reason she keeps going back & forth is the same reason for every soap to do it - it keeps the fans watching. Look @ Bo & Billie, Marlena/John/Roman/Kate/EJ/Sami/Lucas/
Carrie/Austin, etc. the storyline goes round & round!
