i think at the end of the episode they were supposed to be "just friends" but it hinted that they might move on to more...
i think the writers just want to keep us on our toes guessing.
They're back to being just friends. The inside joke was just showing them that they could be.
They're not getting back together. In the voiceovers, the narrator (Ted in the future) always refers to her as Aunt Robin when he's talking to his kids.
