Because Matt and Trey can make everything hilarious and make the most sensitive issues seem less harsh. They are brilliant!
its a good show, and people do complain, but then they make a hilarious show about it. so no worries
They have tried to shut down South Park many times, they know its sooo lewd and Bold LOL but apparenty public interest loves the shockings of the show lol
I swear those creators are messed up, the stuff they think of! LOL makes people shockingly roar, thats why lol.
Family guys great too, cant believe its on prime time though, kids thinkin its a cartoon and watch it! - Gasp!!! LOL

Good question. They are more over the top than most and get very few complaints, especially recently.
I think t's that people realize they make fun of everyone and because generally through their poking fun they come across with a genuinely positive message.
Sure there are lots of racists and other obscene thing, but more often than not the result is absurdist or outright mocking of the obscenity.

He isn't comfortable with making fun of religions? He is fine with making fun of religions. The show did it countless times while he was there. He isn't ok with making fun of HIS religion.
I use to thing this show was so bad when my daughter was little, but now that she is older and you have family guy and some of the shows on adult swim almost make south park look like tom & jerry, but with swear words.
The scientology episode was the best. They had the credits read as Jane/John Smith. The PC police are on Family guy now because they are a new show. There is no way that SouthPark is going to be cancelled now. Although people did get mad during the Steve Irwin one,
