Is the show "The Hills" fake, and how so?!
Question: 99.5% of it is fake..there are so many reshoots,voice overs and staged fights, Heidi hasnt worked for bolthouse for about a yr..lauren and heidi do speak..they are playing this like the paris and nicole rivalry..i know so much of it is all bs yet im sucked in every week..

They plan out the fights and tell the producers when and where they're going to have their fights.
theres no way that the cameras can catch that many moments at the right time.
sometimes they'll have "fights" and then be totally happy the next day.
even some of the relashionships and dates are staged.
I love that show... of course i would...

Ya it's mostly fake. like some stuff does happen and some they'll throw in for more drama. and they have them re-do scenes and everything til it comes out "perfect".
some of it is fake- other things are not... such as the rivalry between Heidi and Lauren
Well I thought it said that it is a real reality show with not planning what they will do and say. But now I am wondering since this question has been asked.
I mean come on have you seen that show?!!? Do you really think anyone's life is like that?!!? It seems pretty planned out to me.
I read an article where Lauren "LC" Conrad states that their lives are real.
I have read so much about this because I love the hills. There are parts of the show that are partially scripted and also there are scenes that they re shoot to make sure that the audience understands what is going on. The events that are taking place are real, it is just altered a bit. On october 13th I think it was I asked LC about this on her myspace page and she wrote me back. The people are real..which makes the show real. The have cameras around 24/7 so they can catch all the fights and drama that takes place. (unlike the first person said) If something happens and is not heard well by the cameras they redo the incident. But they do not make up situations.
