I need some help with The Office?!

Question: I bought season 1 and 2 of The Office in a combined set and I was wondering why Andy is not in any of these episodes. Does he not come till later in the season? He's my favorite character and I'm a little disappointed.

Andy didn't appear on any episodes until Jim left Scranton and went to the Stamford office, (which is where Andy worked until the merger)...
