Does anyone know if there's been any progress in the writers' strike?!

Question: No, there has not been any progress yet. Daily Variety and the Hollywood Reporter both tell us that it will be several weeks now before there is a resolution. The AMPTP, the producers union, is not ready to come back to the negotiating table after the way the talks broke down last Sunday night the 4th. The DGA and SAG, the Directors and Actors Guilds, both will start their negotions first now probably, because both of their contracts expire next June 30th, and the producers want to hammer out a new deal with them before they talk to the writers again. The producers figure that after they have new contracts with the DGA and SAG, that the WGA, will have to take a deal similar to that of one of the other groups.
