writers want to be paid for dvd's and soundtracks and stuff like celebrities do...which is totally rite, they aren't writing untill they are paid more...since some shows won't pay, those shows aren't getting any more episode scripts to follow and no more new episodes!!!that's why!!!
All television shows have writers who write weekly or daily scripts for the actors or talk shows to follow....They are on strike to get a portion of profits from dvd sales if I am thinking right...If there are no writers, there are no scripts for the actors to follow...Hence, no tv shows, talk shows, etc...
If possible, watch an old TV show called "The Dick Van Dyke Show"."Rob, Sally and Buddy" were all writers for "The Allen Brady Show". The host of any show has someone to write out the script. If the writers don't come in, the people can not do the show themselves. No one is able to come up with enough material to do a show off the top of their head.You want something that you know if going to make your audience happy.You need to be prepared with your guests to know what to talk about. Even today's shows like "Seinfeld" have writers. With the news, most of what they talk about is news. This is not made up by someone,but they do have to have things to talk about during their left over minutes. With outwriters, we watch re-runs.Very few people could get on stage and do an improvisation. Especially night after night.
