Patrick Thornhart is a fictional character on the daytime soap opera, One Life To Live. He was played by Thorsten Kaye from October 1995 to September 16, 1997.
Patrick meets Marty Saybrooke while in Ireland trying to dodge a terrorist group knwn as the "Men of 21". Todd Manning shows up to help Marty return home; Todd is mistaken for Patrick, shot by the group and presumed dead. Patrick poses as Todd in order to return to Llanview with Marty.
Patrick briefly becomes romantically involved with Todd's widow Blair Cramer Manning; a very-much-alive Todd returns and witnesses their lovemaking. Blair later loses her and Patrick's unborn child, named Brendan Patrick. Patrick marries Marty in 1997.

No, it has to do with the Men of 21, the Irish Mob that Patrick and MArty were running from back in the day.
Jennifer is right. It is the Irish group from Marty and Patricks past. There is going to be a whole story line of John and that FBI guy teaming up to go try to find them. When they do Marty will not be the same.
It could even be Patrick himself - I got the feeling that there was no closure in that murder investigation so it could be that he has come back for his family - he might have been held hostage, had amnesia or just feared for their lives prior to this juncture. I am just about to be done with Marcie's near misses and such - either let her get away or give the baby to Blair and Todd. Enough, already.
Yeah, I kinda think it ties in with the story of Marty's dead husband that she told to John. Its a new story line of danger for Marty and John. Was there ever a body of Patrick for Marty to bury or is he alive.
