Did anyone watch 'My Boy Jack' tonight and not?!

Question: cry?
My eyes are still watering.

Answers: cry?
My eyes are still watering.

Yes, we watched it and it was very moving. I wasn't familiar with the story until yesterday - it is so tragic.

It really opened my eyes to the whole concept of Remembrance Day - this year I didn't get a poppy, but I shall now always buy and wear one with pride.

I thought all the actors were superb, but especially Kim Cattrell - it really opened my eyes to her as an actress. She should definately look for roles that take her away from that slapper she played in SATC!

omg i know!! it was so sad

lol naa i didnt had basketball practise

Ah, I just asked that too! I almost did, but then looked over to my mum to see her face glistening and giggled instead - all heart me!

No, but were you dicing Onions???

We thought it would be too sad to watch so didn't - you have proven us right.

I missed it....
Was it good?
What was it about?
Why did you cry?

sh1t I missed it guess which idiot thought it was on tomorrow hope they repeat it

yes tears were streaming down my face very sad good acting from the young dan radcliffe xxx

Nope! my parents did though.

I watched learners on bbc1-so funny

Unfortunately the story of far too many families. Indeed really sad. Both my grandfathers fought in that war, my mother's father lost his arm. It was dreadful and rarely spoken about afterwards amongst women and children. Chilling and so important we never forget them.

For those who don't know - it's about Rudyard Kipling's (Jungle Book author) son, who went to war at 17 and was killed 3 days after. He shouldn't have gone as he couldn't see without glasses and failed 2 medicals. His dad pulled strings and the rest you need to watch.

yes it was a story of boy to man in just 1 day.well cast with a message.

Absolutely brilliant.
I thought it was very realistic,
and very moving'
I remember the old folk' still talking about their Jack killed in[1st world war]
when I was a child, I'm 68yrs now.

I didn't think it would affect me but it really made me cry. Band of Brothers did the same.

I was v close to tears and had a huge huge lump in my throat.

No! I thought it was very good and very sad though. One thing irritated me however. Why did they keep slipping modern opinions toward smoking into it? Smoking was thought of as completely different back then......

If any question why we died, Tell them, because our fathers lied. Kipling.

My mum was watching it but then i came downstairs and switched it over to Match of the day so i could watch my beloved MANCHESTER UNITED storm back to the top of the league courtesy of 2 CRISTIANO RONALDO goals.

No, I didn't quite cry, but I had a lump in my throat. Did you know it was Kipling who created the "Known Unto God" for headstones of unknown warriors? Very Sad.

it was a very moving drama. very thought rendering. we sometimes forget what enormous tragedies affected everyone who lived through the war. i thought it was acted brilliantly and made me look at daniel radcliffe and sam from sitc in total different lights, both playing totally opposite roles to what we are used to seeing them in.
one thing bugged me though, all the way through i was wondering where i had seen the actress who played bert before.

beautifully acted-from a boy to a man -Daniel Ratcliffe has shown he's not Harry Potter any more-showed why it was called the Great War and the right day to screen it
No tears -just pride

I felt so angry about the waste of life. Still cried though.

No I didnt, because I knew it would be good but sad and I just didnt fancy feeling rubbish after I had watched it so I watched Learners on 1. Which I found a bit disappointing but at least it was light hearted.

I was in floods of tears too. ANd my boyfriend was crying more than I was (which is amazing). It was a great peiece of drama and really well acted by all the cast. Daniel Radcliffe and Kim Cattrall were revelations in their parts. And I adore Carey Mulligan, she is becoming one of my favourite young British actresses. I think overall it was a wonderful drama and I agree, it portrayed the message of never forgetting those that have fallen very well.

It's been quite a sparse year this year for decent drama, especially compared to last year (Jane Eyre, Bleak House etc), so it's great that this didn't disappoint.
