i think it was a good realistic touch. i'm sure she still had on some makeup, but i'm glad they had a light hand. i always hate when they show a character just waking up and they already have flawless hair, pale eyeshadow, and lip gloss on. like when nikki had sex with david, she look immaculate. and phyllis and jana are the two best-groomed inmates ever. i think they are intentionally trying to make the victoria/baby storyline seem as believable as possible by highlighting nikki's plight and showing that she is staying at the hospital 24/7 at her side.
I admire any actress you will go on the show without make up on. If they can act that's important, and Nikki has already won awards for her acting, I believe.
Yes, make does make them look more beautiful, and in most cases very different.
Remember though Nikki is worried sick about her daughter in a coma, being by her daughter's side is all she wants to do and her daughter has seen her Mother without make up.
Nikki probably feels she doesn't have to continue to act the part of Mrs. Victor Newman anymore as she is separated(?) from her rich husband. husband
