Guiding Light :: Edmond Question?!

Question: Now just recently Edmond came back, but what does he have up his sleeve this time? I missed a few episodes and im clueless as to what he is plotting, and im so happy he came back, hes one of my favorite characters. Pure Evil, i think he may even be worse than Alan! Are you happy hes back? thanks!

Yes, it's great that he is back. He was always one of my favorites (even if he is pure EVIL). It's still a mystery but I'm sure it has something to do with Cassie. You can be sure it's gonna get ugly. Now if they would bring back a couple of other characters like Johnathan, Phillip, and Danny.

i think his evil twisted mind is involving cassies son rj and will . I think he wants will to kill rj and be the only child his mom has just like edmond wanted to be an only child so he could get all the attention . good luck and god bless.

sorry but i have to respectly disagree with the "edmund is pure evil' thing- GL spent over a yr Redeeming Edmund after Richard's death. Edmund was Honestly trying to change and become a better man He truly loved Cassie and her children

. Edmund has many sides which does include a "dark" side but he has a Good side too and Edmund has Always been great with kids. When the producers Chose to fire the actor they made Edmund 'evil'- interesting that the same people that Fired him keep bringing the actor/character back- He is Very popular. I have met David Andrew Mcdonald and he was very sweet and generous to his fans.
The Only reason that I have watched GL the last couple week Is because of David and "edmund'- and I am one of many. Check his message board

And this is not just my opinion- go read what the Actor David Andrew Mcdonald has to say about his character of Edmund

"CBS.com: What can viewers expect on Edmund's return?

DAVID ANDREW MACDONALD: Trouble. [Laughs] I don't know besides that, I imagine lots and lots of trouble. I've always tried to offer some emotional complexity [in Edmund]. So, I hope that's apparent, too.

CBS.com: Fans really see Edmund as evil, but there is a softer side that viewers don't always see. Is there redemption in his future?
DAVID ANDREW MACDONALD: I think all redemption is possible but it all depends on the one being the redeemer or the one being redeemed. One can make their peace with eternity as much as they want but if the people around them don't accept them then it's not worth it. It has parts to do with Edmund and the people of Springfield. Is it possible to redeem someone like Edmund? Sure, anyone can be redeemed.

CBS.com: Has jail changed Edmund?
DAVID ANDREW MACDONALD: Yes, I think he's come back as a changed man. Not necessarily for the better, but he's changed. I think the Edmund that exists historically was a pretty complicated guy. He's always talked about in terms of trying to kill Richard, but he never did kill Richard and he had people killed who tried to kill Richard. He was always trying to keep Richard safe, torment him, but keep him safe. Richard was really his reason for existence. He didn't think of himself as anything but Richard's brother and he hated that but, that's what he thought of himself. But, if he killed Richard, he wouldn't be anyone. So, he was a pretty complicated guy. I think towards the end when the demands of storyline needed him to be off the show, another Edmund came out. I think the fans were upset over that because they never thought that was Edmund to begin with and I agree with them. He comes back less than what he was historically and more of who he is latter-day.

CBS.com: How is Edmund's relationship with Will?
DAVID ANDREW MACDONALD: That's something that even I don't understand. There seems to be some genuine affection there; there seems to be some feeling there expressed for an audience, mainly impressing Cassie. Who knows? It seems on some level that Edmund is taking advantage of a child for his own needs. It's also possible with Edmund that he genuinely cares about the kid and that he just doesn't realize it. When Will comes to town, we won't really know what he is all about. I still don't know what Will is all about. "
