Question: I watch this on and off here and there and today CJ (I think that's his name) said there's been a vendetta between the Demearas and the Bradys since before he was born.
That got me thinking. Just when and how did this vendetta start? What happened to cause the vendetta?

Ok. This may take a while.
First, his name is Elvis Junior Wells, son of Susan Banks (Kristin Blake's weird twin from the 90's) and Stefano DiMera. He grew up in an English boarding school, hence the incredibly sexy accent.
So...the vendetta started in Gaul-way Ireland 50 years ago. Santo (Stefano's father and EJ's grandfather) had been beaten in a bar by some Irish rift raft, and taken to the local Catholic church. Colleen Brady (Shawn Brady's older sister) was a novice, about to enter the convent. She happened to be around that day and nursed Santo's wounds until he got better. Santo instantly fell in love with the fair Colleen. He pursued her like crazy, but Colleen was very very reluctant to his advances. She tried to push him away over and over again, but Santo wouldn't give up. He visited her often at the church, and finally, one night, got her to admit her feelings to him. They finally both realized how much in love they were. They met often clandestinely at night. A young Shawn Brady and Stefano DiMera became friends...and one night, while Colleen and Santo were out, Santo mentioned his mother back in Italy waiting for him and his father. This was very much to Shawn's surprise, as Santo had told him and Colleen that his wife was dead.
This tore Shawn up inside. He knew how much Colleen was risking to be with Santo. She was giving up everything she had worked her whole life towards. He didn't know what to do.
Then one day, when Colleen and Santo were about to run off and marry, Shawn told his father what he had learned from Stefano. Mr. Brady dragged Shawn to where Colleen and Santo were, and demanded Shawn tell Colleen the truth. Santo admitted to his lie, but still tried to tell Colleen he loved her. Colleen was so heart broken that she threw herself off a cliff.
Santo, from that day on, declared revenge on the Brady's. He blamed them for Colleen's death. He told Stefano that he was to avenge her death and reak havoc on the Brady's till they were all gone.
The only way, per the "leather folio" in the tabernacle in Gaul-way, to end the vendetta, is for EJ and Sami to marry. EJ happens to be the spitting image of Santo, and Sami of Colleen. EJ is desparetly in love with Sami, but Sami dispises him because he raped her the night John was shot. Sami just gave birth to twins that were concieved that night. Her daughter is Lucas's biological child, and her son is EJ's. Sami just flew to the Domican Republic to get a quickie divorce from Lucas so she can marry EJ and end the violence between the two families.
Whew. I did that all from memory. :)

His name is EJ. Ej's grandfather feel in love with a Brady women named Collen. She was becoming a nun it was what her family wanted. But she feel in love 2. It's was a Tainted love like Romeo and Juliet. It all happened b/c The Brady's did not want her with a Dimera. It turns out the Grandfather was married. So the girl killed herself cuz she was so sad. The Dimera's blame the Brady's for the girls death. The Brady's blame the Dimera's. It turns out Sami looks like her aunt the girl who killed herself. EJ looks like his grandfather. Sami hates Ej cuz he raped her.
It's EJ. short for Elvis something. Way back EJ's grandfather Santo's was in love with Colleen Brady (G'pa Shawn's sister.) The love affair went wrong and both sides blamed the other. Now EJ and Sammy (because for one they both look like their ancestors) are trying to stop the vendetta by getting married.

the sad the thing about the vendetta is going by its origins it doesnt make sense for the show.
when Stefano and roman first arrived in salem in 1982 neither one of them heard of the other..which is impossible if it started when stefano and shawn were 7..if you wish to believe that stefano waited 49 years before resuming the vendetta then its possible on the brady side..but when stefano first came to salem roman was just a cop who was interfering in some business ventures.
im able to live with it becasue stefano is back on the show.
Stop watching when the lame @$$ writers made EJ the fahter of one of the twins. That is why the show is in the very bottom of the ratings. When the test is redon at a different place I will return to watching again. But until then I wont watch it.
