Question: Now I KNOW that it is JUST a show and maybe a comedy that we should just say...aww it is just a fictional tv show...
BUT...can it promote domestic abuse from a woman towards a man?
does it show that it is OK for women to hit men?
It is easily said that men CANNOT hit women...but with programs like this...can the false notion that it is ok for women to hit their men be promoted through programs such as this??

Hmm...I never thought of it, but, yeah, I guess it could. I've seen her hit him, but never really noticed the double-standard. Now, if it was the other way around, and he hit her all the time, you'd have domestic violence groups protesting.
Marriage is like everyone loves raymond only there is no jokes. The problems are the same only they are not funny.
Don't worry, considering Ray's dysfunctional family...Deb's punches are a turn on/ like foreplay..............But you do have a valid point......since when is a slap in the face not a act of violence, even if it doesn't injury requiring medical treatment.

Carrie on King of Queens does the same thing. I don't think it is good to show on tv because if a woman hits a man in real life the result will be different.

she was a little tuff on Raymond,,, there is no way the writers could have switched slaps and made Ray hit Deborah,, CAN YOU IMAGINE ALL THE HYPE??? I'm a female and even I didnt think it was funny and I'm a huge fan of the show!

WOW! This is the kind of crap that makes writers scared to write. This is why we have no good sitcoms left, everything is reality TV. Does it make you feel better to watch TV shows were people in REAL LIFE are being dumped and having their hearts broken as opposed to a FICTION television show that depicts how life is in alot of families? I won't go on, it's too silly to waste more time.
