No question is petty and no question is too big.A question is a question and unless it is propituated it would keep one pestering like an 'asantushta atma. So do not feel embarassed in asking.

The strike by the scripwriters is indeed unfortunate. But if they have some grievances they should have pursued the matter with the producers. Their holding the audience to ransome defies one; As it is most of the scripts are repetetive and both span and index of audience participation is falling. We have no dearth of good writers and if this strike brings some new blood in it would be a blessing in disguise. The producers' reluctance to increase the writer's remunereation is not without reason and I believe they may not turn back. The loosers would be the writers inthe final analysis.

well not sure but this isnt the first time it has happened back in 1988 they bitched and cried about the same thing, these people make over 200,000 a year and biitched about it,,,,sad

well, the talk shows are already affected. They say the next thing will be game shows, then the tv series and eventually the movies. The last time they went on strike it lasted like 6 months. I am not sure about the shows that start mid season, but I wouldn't count on it.

I heard right away. How can a show go on without the writer's. If it wasn't for them the actors wouldn't have jobs. Have you ever heard of an actor that can write --well yeah but write right????

Show like Leno, and Jimmy Kimmel have already gone to re-runs. Sit-coms are expected to last about a month. Hour long dramas a few weeks.

It is petty, but I was really worried about it too. Aren't we luck that's all we have to worry about.

Most of the producers, stations have anticipated the lockout and most have scripts written till the end of the year. Talk shows will be affected the earliest.

Look at the effect to start being very evident by the end of the year.

Its actually not a petty question since the bigger problem of is the effect on California's economy which is already badly hit by the credit crunch.

Some estimates say losses will amount to around $2Bn by the time the strike ends.

The late-night comedy shows are in re-runs right now. The soaps have enough episodes until January. Some of the mid-season shows might be in trouble...only half of the Lost episodes have been shot and only 8 of "24" shows have been taped. There is talk that they might not even show 24 at all this year.
